I work with people who are capable, thoughtful, and often successful in many areas of life, but find that stress, relationships, or long-standing patterns are not shifting despite real effort. Some come wanting help sorting what they're carrying. Others are tired of the same reactions or relationship dynamics repeating.

Mary Hoisington, LMFT — Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in Oregon, Washington, and California
Sixteen years in practice, much of it with first responders, means nothing you bring in will rattle me. You do not need to clean up your story before you bring it in. I am comfortable with trauma, dark humor, complicated family histories, relationship struggles, moral injury, burnout, and the kind of material that does not always fit neatly into everyday conversation.

How the work happens

My style is steady, direct, and down-to-earth. I use practical strategies when you need tools, and deeper therapeutic work when the past is still shaping the present. That might mean looking at trauma, attachment patterns, emotional reactivity, people-pleasing, control, avoidance, resentment, or the relationship dynamics that keep repeating despite your best intentions.

As a wife, mom, and former collegiate athlete, I know what it is to carry expectations in every direction.

Therapy is one place where you do not have to keep performing. You can bring the real version of what is happening, and we will work with it from there.
