My Approach

I work with people who are capable, thoughtful, and often successful in many areas of life, but find that stress, relationships, or long-standing patterns are not shifting despite real effort. Some come wanting help sorting what they're carrying. Others are tired of the same reactions or relationship dynamics repeating.

My style is steady, direct, and grounded. I tailor the work to you and keep it practical and collaborative, using concrete strategies alongside deeper work when the past is still shaping the present. The goal is meaningful change that holds up in real life.

I'm comfortable working with trauma and complex material, and I respect boundaries. I won't force depth or pace. You decide what we address and when. If deeper work is clinically helpful, I'll explain why and invite you into it, while keeping the process contained and manageable.

When it's relevant, we'll look at how the past continues to show up under stress or in relationships, and why certain reactions keep repeating. If you're looking for a therapist who's genuine and easy to talk to (with humor when it fits), then reach out.

Experience and Background

I bring over 15 years of clinical experience across a range of settings, including outpatient therapy, crisis response, inpatient treatment, and trauma-focused care. My background also includes working alongside first responders in high-pressure situations. That background shapes how I show up in the therapy room: calm, balanced, and effective, even when the material is heavy.

Individual Therapy

I provide individual therapy for adults. As needed, I may include a partner or family member within the context of individual treatment when clinically appropriate.

At this time, I am only accepting telehealth clients. I am licensed to work with clients located in Oregon, Washington, and California at the time of sessions.

Trauma-Focused Work & EMDR

I offer trauma-focused therapy and can incorporate EMDR when appropriate or by request. The goal is to reduce what is stuck, lower the emotional charge, and help you feel more stable and in control.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy method that helps the brain fully process distressing experiences that still feel "stuck." As the brain reprocesses the memory, the emotional charge typically decreases, so reminders feel less intense and your reactions become easier to manage. People often use EMDR for trauma, difficult past experiences, and patterns that keep showing up in the present despite insight and effort.

I approach EMDR and trauma work carefully. You set the pace. I won't push you into material you're not ready to address. When deeper work is clinically helpful, I'll explain why and invite you into it. You decide how we move forward, and I'll help keep the work contained and manageable.
